Warning, these back plates may have minor surface abrasions from the factory. These are new packaged first-line plates, but our packers check every product as it is being shipped, and they have found a high incidence of unacceptable pieces. Our packers look out for you because we want you to be completely pleased with the quality of every product you receive. We are afraid some scratched ones are going to slip by our screening, so we are going to sell them to you in as-is condition.

So, you can buy them cheap. And with about 10 seconds of elbow grease and a pad of 0000 steel wool, you can restore the brushed finish to like new. You can give them a finishing shot of clear lacquer if you want, but it is probably not necessary as the nickel finish is tarnish resistant.

If it is so simple why don’t we do this? Because we have to un-package them and then re-package, and then I would still feel a little funny about selling them as first-line products. Besides, this your chance to trade a small effort for big savings.
