Technical: To figure the inch-pound rating you need for your lid, multiply 1/2 the width of the lid front to back( ilid is 24" front to back, then number is 12), then multiply times the weight of the lid. If you cannot weigh the lid, you can probably Google the square foot weight of your material. 3/4" plywood for instance weighs about 2.3 pounds per square foot. Using 3 supports, right, left, and center, will allow INCH-POUND weight of 180 pounds
